ASW teams up again with the fellas over at Steve’s Word (a.k.a ourselves) for another viral video sketch. Watch the video here or on YouTube. It never ceases to amaze how productions can come together. This little ditty had been in the works for months because we knew we wanted to release it before the end of the Beijing Games. Now, this isn’t to say that we didn’t plan the heck out of it, but so many key elements came together at the last moment. For instance, Danny Brothers not only stepped up to play the part of Robert Jeffries, but he secured us our basement location TWO DAYS before the shoot. We’d been asking around for months, literally, for a usable basement. Not only did the basement of The Lucky Cat serve our needs as a shooting location, but we had a delicious, healthy, and extremely convenient lunch at The Lucky Cat itself. They also let us use their bathroom so we didn’t have to use the diapers we had brought.
Celebrity Pregnancies: A National Obsession
Tuesday, April 8th, 2008
Steve’s Word, we produced this sketch about how the current national obsession with Celebrity Pregnancies affects the youth. Shot on location in Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY. Other than the challenge of getting adult women to look like pregnant tweens and the freezing weather, our biggest production hurdle was the audio. Shooting without permission next to a playground on a Sunday was no easy task. My god; leaf blowers, screaming kids, barking dogs, buses and traffic on the street, etc. It’s not like you can ask a Park Slope parent gossiping about the latest post-natal yoga studio while she pushes her squealing child in a swing to be quiet. Hell hath no fury like a Park Slope mom. In the end, we’re extremely proud of our production. You can watch Rockin’ the Bump! on Steve’s Word or on YouTube.

ASW strikes when you least expect it. The world is always on pins and needles to know what the next Apple iPod related product will be. We got the jump on the chumps over at Mac by bringing you their latest in the iPod line. Old technology is made new again in this speculative commercial. The music featured was generously contributed by down-tempo electronic artist Mavi Graves. Check out the video here. Or watch it on YouTube!

Working closely with the artist, we’ve created several webisodes that have aided greatly in the musician’s acquisition of loyal fans. These humorous shorts not only give listeners a taste of the Polish Ambassador’s music, but shed some light on his personality and sense of humor that is quite endearing and extremely rare in the world of electronic music. Saint Bernadette Music Video
Tuesday, October 9th, 2007
ASW has just completed its latest production. A music video for the band Saint Bernadette’s song “Sidestep”. Directed by Tim Spellman and produced by Jeff Larson, the video stars the band’s lead members Meredith DiMenna and Keith Saunders. Shot on location in and around Litchfield, CT. We were blessed with an eerily foggy day that captured the somber spirit of the song. Extensive location scouting, diligent prop preparation, the expertise of DP Pablo Berron, excellent craft services, and our ability to adapt is what made this video possible on such a cumulus friendly day. Please check out the video on YouTube so we can amass precious views. Watch it HERE in Hi-Res.
